Medical Disclaimer
Last updated: March 13, 2026
IMPORTANT: Please read this Medical Disclaimer carefully before using Pebble & Petal. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Not Medical Advice
Pebble & Petal is a baby tracking and parenting support application designed for educational, informational, and organizational purposes only. The content, features, and information provided in the app are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The app does not:
- Diagnose any medical condition or disease
- Prescribe or recommend treatments, medications, or therapies
- Provide medical advice, counseling, or professional healthcare services
- Replace consultations with qualified healthcare professionals
- Serve as a diagnostic tool or medical device
Always seek the advice of your pediatrician, physician, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding your child's health, development, feeding, sleep, growth, behavior, or any medical condition.
2. Emergency Situations
In the event of a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not rely on Pebble & Petal for emergency medical guidance.
Examples of medical emergencies in infants and children include (but are not limited to):
- Difficulty breathing, choking, or turning blue
- Unresponsiveness or loss of consciousness
- Seizures or convulsions
- Severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling, hives, difficulty breathing)
- High fever in infants under 3 months old (100.4°F / 38°C or higher)
- Severe injury, bleeding, or burns
- Poisoning or ingestion of harmful substances
- Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, no tears, sunken fontanelle, no wet diapers for 8+ hours)
When in doubt, call your pediatrician or seek immediate medical attention.
3. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Use of Pebble & Petal does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and Pebble & Petal, its developers, employees, contractors, or contributors.
We are not healthcare providers. We do not employ, endorse, or recommend any specific doctors, pediatricians, therapists, or healthcare professionals.
4. Individual Circumstances Vary
Every child is unique. Developmental milestones, sleep patterns, feeding needs, growth trajectories, and health conditions vary widely among infants and children.
The information, timelines, developmental leap predictions, activity suggestions, and educational content provided in Pebble & Petal are general in nature and may not apply to your specific child or situation.
Do not use the app as the sole basis for making decisions about your child's health, safety, or medical care. Always consult with your pediatrician or healthcare provider before:
- Starting, stopping, or changing any medications or supplements
- Introducing new foods or making significant dietary changes
- Implementing sleep training or major routine changes
- Making decisions based on developmental concerns or delays
- Treating any illness, injury, or medical condition
5. Developmental Milestones and Leaps
Pebble & Petal provides information about typical developmental milestones and "leaps" (periods of rapid development and potential fussiness) based on established developmental frameworks and research (e.g., Wonder Weeks, CDC milestones).
These are general guidelines, not strict timelines. Children develop at their own pace. Some children reach milestones earlier, some later, and both are often completely normal.
If you have concerns about your child's development, growth, behavior, or achievement of milestones, consult your pediatrician. They can assess your child individually and provide personalized guidance or referrals if needed.
6. Sleep and Feeding Guidance
The app may provide general information about sleep patterns, safe sleep practices, feeding schedules, and nutritional guidance based on current pediatric recommendations.
This information is educational only and does not replace personalized advice from your healthcare provider. Safe sleep practices (e.g., "Back to Sleep," room sharing, avoiding loose bedding) should always be followed. If you have questions or concerns about your child's sleep or feeding, consult your pediatrician.
For breastfeeding support, consider consulting a lactation consultant (IBCLC) or your pediatrician. For formula feeding questions, consult your pediatrician or a registered dietitian.
7. Medications and Medical Conditions
Pebble & Petal allows you to track medications, dosages, and schedules for organizational purposes only. We do not recommend, prescribe, or provide guidance on medications.
Always:
- Follow your pediatrician's instructions for medications
- Verify dosages with your healthcare provider or pharmacist
- Never give your child medication without consulting a healthcare professional first
- Keep medications out of reach of children
- Call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222 in the US) immediately if your child ingests medication incorrectly
If your child has a medical condition (e.g., allergies, asthma, reflux, prematurity, developmental delays), work closely with your healthcare team. The app can help you organize information, but all medical decisions should be made with professional guidance.
8. Third-Party Information and References
Pebble & Petal may reference or link to third-party resources, research studies, developmental frameworks, or educational content (e.g., CDC guidelines, AAP recommendations, Wonder Weeks).
These references are provided for context and educational purposes only. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of third-party information. Medical knowledge and recommendations evolve over time.
Always verify information with your healthcare provider and follow the most current medical guidance.
9. Never Disregard Professional Medical Advice
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or saw in Pebble & Petal.
If the app provides information that conflicts with advice from your pediatrician or healthcare provider, follow your provider's guidance. They know your child's individual medical history and circumstances.
10. Data is Not Analyzed by Medical Professionals
The data you enter into Pebble & Petal (sleep logs, feeding records, growth measurements, milestones, etc.) is for your own tracking and organizational purposes. This data is not monitored, reviewed, or analyzed by medical professionals.
We do not provide medical interpretations of your data. If you notice concerning patterns (e.g., poor weight gain, excessive crying, developmental delays, unusual symptoms), contact your pediatrician.
11. Reporting Summaries
Pebble & Petal can generate summaries of your tracking data (e.g., for pediatrician visits). These summaries are simply formatted reports of the information you entered.
They are not medical reports, diagnoses, or clinical assessments. They are tools to help you communicate more efficiently with your healthcare provider.
Your pediatrician will interpret the data within the context of a full medical examination and your child's health history.
12. No Warranties on Accuracy or Completeness
While we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and helpful information, Pebble & Petal makes no warranties or representations regarding:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content in the app
- The suitability of information for your specific circumstances
- The outcomes of using the app or following any suggestions
Medical knowledge evolves. Recommendations may change. Always consult current medical guidelines and your healthcare provider.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PEBBLE & PETAL, ITS DEVELOPERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, INJURIES, LOSSES, OR ADVERSE OUTCOMES ARISING FROM:
- Reliance on information provided in the app

14. International Users
Medical practices, recommendations, and emergency procedures vary by country and region. Information in Pebble & Petal may be based on U.S. guidelines (e.g., CDC, AAP) and may not apply to your location.
Always follow the medical guidance and emergency procedures applicable to your country or region. Consult local healthcare providers for advice specific to your area.
15. Consultation with Healthcare Providers
We strongly encourage you to:
- Attend all scheduled well-child visits with your pediatrician
- Ask questions and voice concerns during medical appointments
- Follow your healthcare provider's recommendations and treatment plans
- Seek second opinions when needed
- Build a trusted relationship with your child's healthcare team
Pebble & Petal is a tool to support you in organizing information and tracking your child's growth and development. It is not a replacement for professional medical care.
